Indian Naan Recipe

Servings 4

  • 1 ¾ Cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ¾ tsp Baking powder
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • ½ cup
  • Butter (or Glee) and herbs for seasoning

  • Mix all the ingredients and whisk well
  • Add oil and milk in the mix and combine everything together until it forms a ball.
  • Put this dough on a clean counter and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic. Do this at least for five minutes, add flour as and when required
  • Allow the dough to rest for 10 minutes. Divide into 6-8 pieces
  • Roll a piece of dough until thin.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. If the skillet is non-stick variety you can put the rolled dough over it directly for cooking, but if the skillet is not of a non-stick variety, then it is better to melt some butter before you add each piece of dough. Cook the Naan, one at a time for 90 seconds or until you find the parts blackening on each side.
  • When done, brush some butter and add some cilantro and garlic if you want , ENJOY!
