The color of this blueberry breakfast smoothie is what attracts me to this healthy drink. I was lucky to have one of these healthy smoothies at the sleepover at one of my friends place. She made a few breakfast smoothies for everyone, but the color of this smoothie got my attention. Fell in love with this blueberry breakfast smoothie at first sight. While some may find the color, less attractive, but if you disregard the color and concentrate on the taste of this smoothie, you will never regret trying it. It tastes better than its looks, but I got pulled towards this smoothie because of its color. Many would be wary of how kale can be added to a smoothie and whether it will taste good, but it tastes absolutely delicious. With both these ingredients you get a smoothie that is packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants and various other healthy minerals.

The dark rich color of this healthy smoothie is due to the antioxidants and proteins. The antioxidant rich blueberries and kale, which is one of the healthiest vegetables on the planet makes it one of the healthy breakfast smoothies. Black is the new green.

The blueberry breakfast smoothie is full of healthy ingredients and is delicious and sweet to taste. This breakfast smoothie is nothing fancy and pretty simple to make. According to your taste and liking you can add or remove certain ingredients while making the smoothie. The main two ingredients though are blueberries and kale. Other one or two stuff can be removed or added to enhance the flavor. Some people like the flavor of ginger in the smoothie, while some prefer cinnamon flavor. Whether to add a particular flavoring ingredient depends on your taste and liking.

You can even add Greek yoghurt to make the smoothie tastier and rich. There is no particular way to make good breakfast smoothies, you can experiment with the ingredients and arrive at a smoothie that is healthy and delicious too. Healthy smoothies will energize you and make you feel full.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Kale
  • 1 cup Fresh or frozen blueberries
  • ¾ cup Unsweetened Almond milk
  • 1 tbsp Chia seeds
  • 1 scoop Vanilla protein powder
  • 1 Medium banana

Instructions
 

  • Place all the above ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Serve it cold and sprinkle with chia seeds for some extra antioxidants.
    You can even add ice to attain the required thickness. The amount of water you use will depend on whether you are using fresh or frozen fruits.
